4th Grade Art Lesson Ideas – Tradition & Figures

I fell into the pit of the interwebs and got lost among the resources that lovely people have been able to share.

I have been inspired by Arteascola art education blog.

I was looking to for ways to teach figure drawing to my 4th grade students. I want my students to be able to draw human figures accurately to proportion.

I wondered what the difference is between gesture drawing and contour drawing.

LOOK AT WHAT YOU ARE DRAWING. MAKE OBSERVATIONS. WHAT ARE THE RELATIONSHIPS?

What is the size? What is the scale? Spacing, Proportion, Composition. Information.

I started thinking about how will our practice take us towards Shadow Puppets, Super Heroes, Characters – Mythology. Clay Storytellers, Recycled Material collaborations, Tiles, Positive/Negative balance. “Carbon Paper”, Scratch Art, and so much more. Shamekh Bluwi.
